Stair of Despair

Farmer Wilyims noticed his cows were avoiding the high field near the warped copse and decided to take a look around. He discovered a neolithic burial mound atop the hill, its covering stone broken by some strange liquid that smelled intensely horrible. A braver man than his father, Wilyims lit a candle and headed into the barrow — only to turn tail after coming face to face with the shambling dead!

He’ll tell you where it is if you promise to check there’s nothing inside that will hurt his cows. You can keep anything valuable you find.

The dungeon makes a good challenge for a total of eight hit dice worth of characters. There’s enough xp for a party of four lv2s to reach lv3.
