LUNG FISH

On earth-that-was, a creature called the LUNGFISH could live for several years out of the water. This is because they retained ANCESTRAL CHARACTERISTICS that would be used when the creature found itself out of the water.

Offworld, there’s an imperceptible psychic network that remains so clogged with cognition as to be functionally useless. However, galactic phenomenon such as solar storms often knock the psychic network offline. When that drought hits, YOUR ancestral characteristics kick in.

This is SPACE and you are a LUNG FISH.
